Il est intéressant d’observer la politique. J’apprécie cela, mais j’avoue ne plus croire ni adhérer à certaines tendances. Je vote par principe, mais je ne fais pas confiance aux récits vendus par les politiciens. Il est évident que les faits sont souvent bien loin des discours.

Nous-mêmes, nous nous racontons des histoires sur tout : nos problèmes, nos succès, nos attentes, etc. Si quelqu’un nous propose un récit commun avec lequel nous nous identifions, qui répond à nos « valeurs », nous y adhérons et pouvons même propager ces récits. Cela se voit clairement avec la politisation des réseaux sociaux, comme si en relayant nous participions à une avancée des storytellings.

Revenant aux faits, presque aucun parti depuis la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale n’a réalisé les promesses de ses discours. Vous avez sûrement entendu ces dernières semaines des discours contre les extrêmes et le danger pour l’Europe.

Cependant, les faits montrent que la victoire du RN et la montée des droites dures en Europe ne changent rien au Parlement Européen. Nous n’avons aucun pouvoir autre que nos votes, alors nous aimons à penser que notre vote, qui nourrit un récit, compensera notre impuissance face à un système que nous « subissons ».

Les récits nourrissent l’imagination et peuvent même déstabiliser certains fanatiques qui veulent confirmer leurs fantasmes, comme nous l’avons vu avec des fans de Trump/QAnon qui attendaient à Dallas la résurrection de Kennedy Jr.

La politique arrive parfois à influencer autant que les religions ou les cultes. En écrivant cet article, j’écoute la radio et j’entends dire à chaque minute qu’une dissolution est un choc. Les mots amorcent déjà de nouveaux récits qui vont influencer, créer des émotions et des attentes.

En réalité, ce sont juste deux jours où nous allons voter, ce qui en résultera n’est que supposition, ouverte à des histoires potentielles que nos politiciens exploiteront pour nourrir nos imaginations.

It’s interesting to observe politics. I enjoy it, but I must admit that I no longer believe in or adhere to certain trends. I vote on principle, but I do not trust the narratives sold by politicians. It is evident that facts are often far from their speeches.

We tell ourselves stories about everything: our problems, our successes, our expectations, etc. If someone proposes a common narrative with which we identify, one that aligns with our « values, » we embrace it and might even propagate these narratives. This is clearly seen with the politicization of social networks, as if by sharing, we participate in advancing storytelling.

Returning to the facts, almost no party since the end of World War II has fulfilled the promises of its speeches. You have surely heard the recent speeches against the extremes and the danger for Europe.

However, the facts show that the victory of the National Rally (RN) and the rise of hard-right movements in Europe change nothing in the European Parliament. We have no power other than our votes, so we like to think that our vote, which feeds a narrative, will compensate for our powerlessness against a system we « endure. »

Narratives nourish the imagination and can even destabilize some fanatics who want to confirm their fantasies, as we saw with Trump/QAnon fans waiting in Dallas for the resurrection of Kennedy Jr.

Politics can sometimes influence as much as religions or cults. While writing this article, I listen to the radio and hear every minute that a dissolution is a shock. The words already begin new narratives that will influence, create emotions, and expectations.

In reality, these are just two days when we will vote, and what will result is nothing but speculation, open to potential stories that our politicians will exploit to feed our imaginations.
